Paragon Bank’s SME Lending team has taken a big step forward towards a greener future, relocating its Southampton operation to a more modern, climate-friendly office just five miles down the road from its previous home.
Having enjoyed the productivity benefits made possible by new, collaborative technology during the pandemic, the hundred-plus team are now making the move to hybrid working on a permanent basis, allowing them to reduce their office footprint.
In the search for new premises, Paragon has also taken the opportunity to get ahead on the green agenda, opting for an office with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B. The new office is located at Aviation House, near Southampton Airport.
The Government expects all commercial landlords to achieve this standard by 2030 but, with many properties languishing behind, upgrades will be needed across the board.
The new office is light and airy, with lots of meeting space to welcome customers and the latest conferencing technology to keep in touch.
For climate-conscious commuters, it boasts better access to public transport as well as on-site electric charging points and cycle stores.
John Phillipou, Managing Director of SME Lending at Paragon said:
“Here at Paragon, we’re very excited about the opportunities that new technology offers as we transition to a low carbon economy. The technology around collaborative working took a massive step forward during the pandemic and this, in turn, gives businesses everywhere the chance to re-think what they need from the office of the future.
“For us, it’s all about creating a bright, collaborative and climate-friendly space where we can be more effective and creative in our everyday interaction with our customers and each other.”
