Your feedback questioned our approach to your username, password and memorable data. We have reacted to the feedback and made the following improvements based on your suggestions.
Your username and password and memorable data are the keys to your account, so always keep them secret, never write them down or give them to anyone else. If you’re using a shared computer and you’re prompted to save your log-in details, always say no.
While security credentials are an important control, we’ve also had feedback which suggested the items could be difficult to manage. So, earlier this year we made a few changes:
- You can now change your username to something memorable to you.
- We’ve expanded the options for your memorable questions, so you can pick from a longer list of options to find one that’s more memorable for you.
- We’ve expanded the characters allowable for your password.
If you’d like to amend any of your security credentials simply log-in and choose ‘Change my details’.
As ever, if you suspect that someone knows your security data, you should change your password or memorable details immediately. If you believe someone has had access to your account, call us on 0800 052 2222 and we can ensure you’re protected.
